A Quiet Country Christmas in Hillsboro Iowa

Christmas Day

Good morning Lauren!
Lauren was gracious enough to let her Aunt sleep in her bedroom, while she took up residence in the spare basement room.

Chad was having problems getting the his eyes to stay open. Probably shouldn't have stayed up until the wee morning watching the Dr. Who marathon on BBC.

Sean was so excited to watch The Polar Express for the 999,999th time.

Quite Christmas luncheon with our friend Hobe, who stopped by for a bite.

Susan, Lauren loved the perfect snowball maker. She caught Chad from behind, when he wasn't paying attention.

Sean's ultimate Christmas, working on new projects in his Lego workshop.

Sean and I taking our first crack at shooting practice. Good thing it was only a BB gun; my shooting skills are rusty.

Christmas photo with Lauren. Yes, Chad won out, and the Victorian train picture is staying above the fireplace. He feels it is more relevant to the architecture of the house. I'll let him have this one, since her found me an awesome Eastlake mirror for the hall. It measures almost 7 feet in height. I'll take a picture and post it on the blog. It is very cool!

Winter storm Draco in Hillsboro, Iowa

Winter Storm Draco

Hillsboro, Iowa

These photos were taken an hour and a half into the storm.

Christmas Eve 2012

Merry Christmas Eve!

Last night, we had dinner at my mother's house. Lauren went over early to do the table scape. Here are pictures of her creative endeavor. Perhaps, she will enter the 4-H, table setting competition, at the fair this year.

After our sumptuous feast, we went home to open gifts. The kids wanted to be able to sleep in Christmas morning and watch the Disney parade.

Lauren having a wardrobe malfunction.

Chad's new company logo.

Dad, the chemistry kit was a hit. Sean, also received the classic Red Ryder BB Gun ... "Don't shoot your eye out. "

Once again Dad, you scored a hit with Lauren. She loved the I-Tunes card, and has already used every cent of it, downloading songs to her I-Pod.

Lauren got her wish of a white Christmas.

Not as bad as it was after the blizzard.

Maybe we will be down to see the southern contingent next year.

Chad just informed me, he is already planing for us be in Florida in February. I guess, he is already sick of the cold.

Have a beautiful holiday!
